Vung Tau, Vietnam

A motorbike ride to the beach and a mountain, and a little bit of cheeky monkey...

-November 2023-

Laid-back small beach town, where it is easy to look around in a few days, but some unexpected adventures were waiting for us... We rented a motorbike that took us further anywhere we wanted not knowing where to go... That was great.

We checked in a hotel in the "back beach" that is said it is cleaner than the front one because it faces the South China Sea, and less debris flowed from Ho Chi Minh.

The beach is so chill and nearby the hotel where we stayed, so we often took a walk and had beers.

There are many temples to visit, and there was a group of monkeys we bumped into then my partner had to fight against them to protect me because they started to get closer to me to mug for my belongings. He yelled in a monkey voice as swinging around his bag to chase them away. It worked! Good job, my big monkey!

Another episode is that we happened to be invited to a party of a religious group when we were finding our way to the top of the mountain. They were so generous that they offered us free food and drinks, and a lady gave us keyholders too. The view from the top of the mountain is gorgeous but we said thank you, then chucked ourselves off before being asked to sign up for their membership or something happened.

Oh, there is a fun place to go. It is called Upside Down House. Like the name, everything is upside down in the house where you can shoot photos guided by the staff who knows which posture is the best!

This video is a view from a boat heading to Vung Tau.

The transportation we took was a little ferry departing from Ho Chi Minh City Passenger Ferry Port because we wanted to have different scenery to enjoy our journey. Besides it is very affordable and quick. There is a little cafe in the waiting area like the photo down below but no Banh mi...
