Phan Thiet & Mui Ne, Vietnam

Updated: Jun 17

Fishing town, the beach, and meeting up with new people.

-November 2023-

After crossing the bridge with heaps of colourful fishing boats in Phan Thiet, we arrived at Mui Ne which is a cozy beach town.

After we rent a bike from the guest house owner, then we hit our roads again. Many kites float in the air at the local beach and a well-maintained beach house with parasols for tourists (I think.) was a good comparison to the experience. I liked both.

We visited a jewelry shop at Phan Tiet Central Market for currency exchange. It's said they offer better rates than other stores. This market was super packed we were almost unable to move forward! I popped into a Vietnamese hat shop there and tried them on, a shop lady was so friendly, and I took a photo with her as she requested. Then, I said to her as showing it " We look like sisters!" Her smile was like "Yeah, nah...."

There was a bar where we met up with new people coming from overseas like us. Some are visitors and others are settlers for many years. We had a few beers over a fun conversation that night. It is always fascinating to listen to somebody's background and their stories because most of them blow my mind! It makes me feel that there are tons of different kinds of people in this world.

\Public transportation to come here was a sleeping bus with bunk beds having individual stretched sheets. That was super comfortable for a long journey because I could fully stretch my legs but there were no power points or USB ports, so they needed to be charged before getting in.

Each bed comes with pillows and a little bit of reclining motions.

Greenery beautiful landscape. Rice fields?

Entering the heart of Phan Tiet.
