Da Lat, Vietnam

A mountain resort town with lakes and fields.

-November 2023-

Clean cold air with the natural landscape of the mountain, and French-influenced architecture... Da Lat is such a pretty town, so it is said that this city is a honeymoon destination among locals. We saw young couples having photo shoots in wedding dresses, which gave me a smile.

Happy Wedding!

Likewise, we rented a bike and drove around to lakes and mountains. Our gaze was drawn to endless fields of vegetables, flowers, and coffee beans.

Since we always love a journey to our destinations, we stopped wherever we thought was intriguing or entertaining to savor. If we take the incorrect paths, it won't matter to us as long as we have an amazing time.

Xuan Huong Lake is in the centre of the city. The reflection of the building is beautiful, and the tower by the lake reminded me of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. One rainy morning, we met a local group having drinks under a gazebo and they offered us their drinks and food. We laughed and tried to interact with our body language! No border is required to build up friendship.

Da Loc, Tuyen Lake, Strange House and the flower market were some of our highlights as photos shown below.

Don’t forget to bring Poncho with you to protect from sudden rain!

The mountain view in the western part of Da Loc.

Tuyen Lake View and other photos are taken on the way there. Happy ride in Poncho.

Strange house.what a crazy maze it is!

The flower market. Heaps of flowers are lined up in a big market. So pretty.

A friendly guest house on the hill, NON LA, the owner welcomed us without booking.

I couldn't be happier with this accommodation because it was not only cleanliness but also their hospitality such as putting a vase with flowers in our room, hanging our laundry on the window frame and always coming out from the back saying hi to us every time we got back. I highly recommend this house:-) However, there was drama until we ended up here...

When the bus we were in was approaching the bus stop we had to get off, I found a very annoying email from the guest house I had booked through Agoda. It said, “Sorry, your booking is cancelled because no rooms for you.” I was like “What’s the heck are you talking about? You showed me there was a room. That’s why I booked it. Don’t you dare remember?”

Sadly, nothing changed no matter how I was pissed off, so it’s time to move on to plan B. Yes, it was an old-school way like knocking on doors until we found the one, but we were lucky enough to get it at the second shot, and it was bang on!

The facade of the guest house. it's located on the hill. Clean sunny and cozy room.
